3 Reasons You Need to Add Ginger to Your Menu. Ginger can be beneficial to health, and here are 3 more reasons you need to add Ginger to your diet.
1. Cold Remedy
Ginger is one of the excellent natural remedies for the common cold. Ginger drinking – cinnamon tea significantly revives its congestion and recovery speed.
For this tea, you will need: 1/2 teaspoon of ginger (freshly grated), 1-inch cinnamon stick, one pinch of cardamom powder (optional), one teaspoon of honey (optional)
Make hot water ginger and cinnamon 1 cup for 15 minutes. Once the mixture gets hot, add honey and cardamom powder.
Note: Never add honey in hot or boiling water, because its composition changes and does more harm than good.
2. Aid to digestion
Ginger stimulates the digestion and absorption of nutrients to stimulate the production of gastric juice and peristalsis (movement of the intestine). It is also a great cleansing glass that mobilizes toxins and improves overall health.
For Digestive Tonic: Mix 1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger (can also use dry ginger powder) with a cup of water. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Filter and drink.
3. Helps relieve joint pain or back pain
The anti-inflammatory action of ginger combined with its analgesic effects can be very helpful in the pain of rheumatism or arthritis.
Apply a ginger paste one tablespoon (or freshly grated ginger), five drops of eucalyptus oil and two teaspoons of olive oil (or sesame oil). Rub the painful area, and cover with a dry cloth to retain heat. Leave it for a few hours, then rinse with lukewarm water.
Caution: Do not take ginger if you have hyper-acidity. And do not apply ginger paste into cuts, boils, acne, or any other injury.
