5 Fastest Trains in the World. 160 years ago, on August 30, 1857, the first railway line was inaugurated in Argentina that allowed a short but efficient trip from Plaza Lavalle to La Floresta station. That locomotive from London was called “La Porteña” and would mark a milestone. Later, on August 30 it would become “Railroad Day”.
The years passed. Trains, like almost everything, are little like those first rudimentary models. Speed and comfort are sought. It seeks to arrive earlier, but not lose comfort. Here are the five fastest trains of today:
JR-Maglev – Japan: 581 km / h
The fastest train in the world. Since the beginning of its services in April 2004, it set the standard with a maximum operating speed of 430 km / h and an average of 251 km / h. However, not satisfied with this, the JR Maglev, a magnetic levitation train that the Central Japan Railway and the Railway Technical Research Institute developed, reached 581 km / h in a test with three wagons. The railway runs along the Shanghai Maglev 30.5 kilometer line that culminates at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

Magnetic levitation changed the direction of the rail industry. One of his favorite specimens was the Transrapid, which began its development in the early 1970s in Germany.
